Marque vs. Morales is not happening.

Apparently these reports are not true. I just read on Dan Rafael's chat that Richard Schaefer himself said that they are still negotiating. I really don't feel like digging it up since his chats are pretty long, but I'm 100% certain I read it.
They did confirm however that Marquez is asking for too much money.Comment

and I don't see how marquez priced himself out of this fight or being a diva since hes been given other options that will pay more. This fight was never 100% a sealed deal, it was one of many fights being offered to him.Comment

hmmm... i'm seeing a pattern here.
Previously, the Pacman camp mentioned Marquez out-pricing himself for a fight, then Khan said the same thing.
Now, even Morales said Marquez priced himself out.
That's too much of a coincidence of three boxing champs refusing to fight you because you priced yourself too much. And to think its on record that Marquez fought and lost to chris john for $30k.
Marquez should fire his financial adviser and get a new one if he wants to get the fights he needs before he gets any older.Comment

Well, I don't really know what to make of the money split between these two if the fight was gonna happen. Morales at this point is a bigger draw still than JMM. I won't deny that. But even if that's true, he shouldn't get the lion's share of the money if the fight were to go down because JMM has got the hardware that Morales will be trying to make history with which is a fourth title. And JMM has beaten better opposition and has been in higher profile fights. I like Morales too. But JMM doesn't need to fight him at all. And in fact, just like everybody else I hope the fight don't happen although I wouldn't be mad at JMM if he took it because it could be a good payday while waiting for the 140 lbers to do their thing. And he's frozen out of Arum's 135 lb tourney.
Call me crazy, but I like the idea of JMM going after Berto. Fighting an undefeated champ (no matter how overrated people think he is) for a fourth title would be huge. And if JMM loses, so what. At least he tried. Khan-JMM would be a good fight too.Comment
