Like it or not, Pirog is still a paper champion. He has had one good fight. He needs to prove himself in a couple more fights before being able to get a fight with Martinez. If Martinez fights Pirog and wins, he'll get zero credit for beating a prospect. Although Dzinziruk isn't famous either, he has at least proven himself much more than Pirog.

At least Pirog is ranked in The Rings top 10 as a middleweight and I am not sure if Sergei Dzinziruk has ever even fought in the division.

Pirog has one big win over an overhyped prospect. That's not enough to jump him ahead of the line over a long time world champion like Sergei Dzinziruk.

          Agreed.

Not a bad undercard for a BAD fight.

And that is exactly one more win within the middleweight division then Dzinziruk has. You also forgot one minor detail and that is the fact that Pirog also holds a belt in the same division as Sergio. So, in my opinion a unification fight within the division should take precedence. Plus, you all know it would be a good fight.
