Comments Thread For: Chavez vs Zbik in Play For May 14 or May 21 in Mexico

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (41-0, 30KOs) will get his mandatory shot at the WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik (30-0, 10KOs) in the month of May in Toluca, Mexico. The two dates being considered are May 14 and May 21. Chavez is going to take a tune-up on January 29 against Billy Lyell (22-4, 8KOs) in Culiacan. Zbik became the full champion after Sergio Martinez was given the status of Champion Emeritus. Chavez's co-promoter, Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, confirmed the information.

Chavez's people should get credit for finding the easist path to the title(Not saying Chavez is going to win though).

Only Zbik got it in easier fashion.

The good thing: One of them will finally get his first loss after years of having been fed with ridiculous opposition.

The bad thing: It probably won't be Chavez Jr and either way, one of those guys will be champion...

Surprised that the Germans aren't gonna push to have this fight in Germany.

Here we go this whole sham is put into play to make sure Jr gets a world title, and they made sure its in Mexico in case pillowfisted Zbik manages to outbox him so no way Jr. loses a decision.

The WBC is handing the middleweight title to JCC JR.
