Strong argument for Ray Robinson but its no way he fought better comp than Ali. Mayweather is the best boxer skill for skill in history. Anytime people would like nothing better than to see you lose you're doing something right. Not because they think you're beatable but because they say no one should be this good. Pac is extraordinary. To move up all those weight classes and keep his power will never be matched in my lifetime. Maybe never again. Stop me when I dont make sense.
pacquiao is an extraordinary fighter. so is floyd.

but to say that they are in the top 3 all time is pushing it.

if they were ever to be ranked in the top 10 (which i doubt), it will be better assessed when their career is over. saying they are the greatest at the point where they are at the height of their popularity is ******.

i agree with you with one thing though. i think ali makes a case of GOAT cause his division was ****ing stacked. i have no problems people rating him over the much favored ray robinson.

but to say floyd and pacquiao are top three is laughable.....

although i think rating manny and floyd at top ten is ridiculous, this isn't really a good argument.

people at that era fight that much. it was the norm to have 100+wins.

now, top fighters fight 2 or 3 times a year. to be compared to an era where fighters fight more than once a month and say it is the basis for greatness is ******.

you are using the standard in a different era and use it as the measuring stick for today's era.

that's like saying pacquiao is greater than armstrong cause he won 8 belts in different weight classes and armstrong only had 3.

Thank you for a decent reasoning. They could use a few more fights. One will eliminate the other from the conversation if they ever fight. I say winner is top five no problem.

This article is a complete and utter joke. I am a huge Floyd fan but I respect the **** out of Pac and acknowledge his greatness and accomplishments. However this article or poem or whatever the hell it is isn't even close. Currently neither Floyd or Pac are in the top ten of all time, when their careers are over that very well may be different. The thing that REALLY irks me about putting Pac that high is that you have to look at the entire CAREER to rank someone that high. Who did Pac fight before 2002-2003?

                  fight-sports-in ... t-all-time
                  Manny Pacquiao, the 8
                  division world
                  champion who has risen
                  from poverty to
                  financial freedom is not
                  one of the greatest
                  fighters all time. The key
                  word here, is "ONE" Of
                  The GREATEST. Pacquiao
                  is not one of the
                  greatest fighters of all
                  time because He Is THE
                  GREATEST OF ALL TIME. I
for one am not afraid to
                  voice my opinion on
                  this matter. Many
                  boxing scribes and fans
                  are comfortable with
                  saying that Pacquiao is
                  "ONE" Of The Greatest,
                  but how many will say
                  that he is "THE"
                  GREATEST?
                  It's all a matter of
                  opinion and mine
                  happens to be that
                  Pacquiao has DONE
                  ENOUGH To Be
                  Considered as THE
                  GREATEST. There are a
                  lot of fighters that
                  qualify for the title of,
“ One Of THE GREATEST. “
                  Does Manny Pacquiao,
                  an 8 division world title
                  holder deserve to be in
                  the same category as
the rest of the lot? My
                  answer is no. I Believe
                  that Pacquiao has DONE
                  ENOUGH ThroughOut his
                  career to have EARNED
                  the SOLO TOP SPOT .
On top of his inside of
                  the ring achievements,
                  his outside of the ring
                  accomplishments are
                  amazing as well. How
                  many elected
                  congressman do you
see that take off 8 weeks
to train and fight on a
                  world class level? How
                  many congressman do
                  you see that do
                  anything even remotely
                  close to that?
                  Pacquiao has single
                  handidly lifted the sport
                  of boxing and with the
rise of the UFC, he's a
                  boxing blessing. The UFC
                  has Silva and guys like
                  Uriah Faber, boxing has
                  Manny Pacquiao. What
                  would boxing have if
                  Manny Pacquiao had not
                  taken the sport over?
                  Floyd Mayweather? Yes,
                  Mayweather is a great
                  fighter, but his behavior
                  outside of the ring is
                  nothing to write home
                  about. Pacquiao has
                  ACHIEVED GREATNESS
                  BOTH Inside and Outside
                  of the Ring.
                  Mississippians that I
                  have spoken to about
                  this have mixed
                  feelings. For some
                  reason (which I will
                  address in another
                  article) some fans are
                  hesitant to say that
                  Pacquiao is THE
                  GREATEST. Most say he's
                  ONE of the greatest, but
                  they won't say that he's
                  THE GREATEST.
                  John Moore, a Pacquiao
fan that I ran into at the
                  Last Call Sports bar in
Jackson said it best, " If
                  Manny Pacquiao isn't the
                  best ever, then there
                  will never be a best
                  ever." I asked another
                  boxing fan, Steve
                  Freeman of Vicksburg,
                  MS , he disagrees, "
                  Pacquiao is one of the
                  greatest, but he's not
                  the greatest. He may be
                  the greatest of his era,
                  but he's not the greatest
                  fighter of all time."
                  It's an open debate, and
                  everyone has an
                  opinion on the matter. I
                  happen to feel that
                  Manny Pacquiao is not
                  one of the greatest, He
                  Is InDeed THE GREATEST
                  Fighter Of ALL Time.
