Why should'nt fighter's count the money, goldenboy's counting the money.

I'd like to see Khan face Peterson if possible. Peterson is a skilled contender with similar size to Khan and a very live underdog, unlike the other names being mentioned. I wouldn't mind a Prescott rematch, but I don't feel it would prove a great deal at this stage. I think we all know that Khan would give Prescott a boxing lesson and stop him late should they fight again, at which point the haters who demanded the rematch would criticise Khan for fighting a C-level, one-hit wonder slugger. Khan can't really win with those people.
Out of the two domestic options I'd rather he fought John Murray, who can at leach punch unlike McCloskey.Comment

That train of thought is right and wrong at the sametime. Nobody should count another persons money. Everybody knows Khan is going to get the biggest slice of the money but that doesn't mean the other person should take anything that is offered either. Khan should not be on 90-10, 85-15 or 80-20 ****. That is just being unreasonable.Comment

People really need to stop saying that we all Khan will give Presscott a boxing lesson. How does anybody know that when Khan got his @ss KO'ed last time. I am person who firmly feels that quick 1 punch KOs don't really tell the story of how a fight could have played out because a 12 round boxing lesson tells that there is nothing a person can do to beat you. But Khan doesn't have the best chin so Presscott could actually KO his @ss again. Yes Khan survived Maidiana but Maidana was not the man who knocked his @ss out either.Comment

Khan is ducking Prescott, but fought a better and tougher opponent in Maidana?
How does that make any sense?
You guys need to learn how business works in the entertainment business. Khan is supposed to make more because he has a min. of 1M with GBP per fight. Khan gets at least 1M per fight for his next two fights no matter who he fights.
Prescott is in no position to demand close to what Khan is making because he's not the champ, he's not the draw, and he's not one of the best fighters at 140, etc. Prescott brings nothing to the table against Khan.
Sometimes in business you have to take short money right now so you can make a lot more money in the future. A great example is Sergio Martinez. If Prescott really wants this fight he would take 500K to fight Khan and he would make millions later down the road if he beats Khan. If he's so confident that he can beat Khan again, take the short money right now to set up some big fights later down the road.
Khan is not ducking nobody. It's hard to find an opponent for him when other fighters are asking for what Khan makes per fight or close to what he makes per fight.Last edited by War Dinamita; 01-20-2011, 12:57 PM.Comment

What does Prescott bring to the table that no other fighter including Khan brings?
Khan is a bigger draw.
Khan is the champ.
Khan is the bigger name.
Khan is the one fighting on HBO PPV, HBO, and Sky PPV. How much has Prescott sold in the UK and US?
Khan was the one selling out arenas in the UK when he was fighting in the UK. How many arenas did Prescott sell out.
Khan was the one making millions from fighting on sky sports before he came to the US. Did Prescott do the same thing as Khan?
Prescott's biggest win is Khan and people only know who the **** he is because of the Khan fight.
Please tell me what Prescott brings to the table.Comment

How can Khan be ducking when he is on holiday?
A fight isn't getting fixed because Schaefer is still to go thjrough all the options. Once all the options have been weighed, a fight gets considered.
No-ones taken up Schaefer's offer yet but someone will.
And who says its not Prescott?
(even though I wish it was Peterson)Comment

Schaefers right, fighters should think about their own money not what the other guy is getting. I don't get it when fighters **** on about how they want 50/50 and all that ****. Peterson, McCloskey etc fighting Khan is probably the biggest pay day of their career so take it and if you win then the bigger pay days will come.Comment

Prescott brings I already knocked you out EASY. Now you listed all of that like I didn't say those things in my post. Khan not as big as you and others are trying to make him out to be plain and simple. Khan is only known in america by hardcore fight fans not casual fans. Add to that most of those casuals will be turned off by the fact that he is ****** from all the propaganda that america feeds the dumb that they believe about all ******s. Khan is not position to give these guys low ball take it or leave it offers and when they leave say they pricing themselves out. We agree that he should get the biggest slice but to say Khan has done enough to offer somebody a 90-10 split is ****ing crazy. Why not?
