Comments Thread For: Khan vs Rios: Garcia Says Brandon Will Beat Amir

Trainer Robert Garcia and 24-year-old rising lightweight star, Brandon Rios (26-0-1, 19 knockouts), told FanHouse that they would love to entertain a potential bouts with WBC lightweight champ, Humberto Soto (54-7-2, 32 KOs), or WBA junior welterweight titlist Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs). Soto has a May 7 rematch with Urbano Antillon (28-2, 20 KOs).

gotta agree with garcia somewhat. style-wise, rios is a bad fight for khan.

however, khan handspeed would blitz rios early. but rio's toughness and pressure will get to khan. khan can't run forever.

I see khan barely holding on to win in another barnburner like the maidana fight. khan's chin is too big a liability and vulnerability.

i think brandon would have a good shot at beating khan, why? because look at maidana and rios, compare both, they are both come forward fighters, both have power, maidana did give khan problems and almost ko'd him,if rios fights like maidana, why can't he have a shot at winning? the difference between rios and maidana? i think rios throws more punches, maidana is agressive like rios, but the difference and i think it's a big difference is rios throws more punches,he's always on top of his opponent,,,,,like i said if maidana was able to hit khan and make it a difficult fight, don't see why rios can't

Rios doesn't have anything like the same power as Maidana!

i have only see 1 of rios fights, does he swing those wide hayemakers like madaina. The more orthodox punches khan was dealing with them pretty easily, it was that wild one that shook khan up.

If rios fights more orthodox, there's really no point comparing rios to madaina
