why is pac fighting mosley?

honestly wat does pac gain by beating mosley? hes an 8 division world champ. Mosely lost to mayweather and fought to a draw with sergio mora, now he deserves a shot at pacquiao? it could just be me but it seems like there is absolutely nothing to gain by him fighting mosely.
