The referee in both fights determined who went the full 12. In Cotto's fight, the ref made a "decision" to stop the fight. In the Margo fight, the ref could have stopped it in the 9-10th round easily and for whatever reason decided not to.


The decision by the ref, is not a testament to whether or not Cotto could have lasted all 12, but whether or not, that ref simply felt like stopping it.


Margo lasting all 12 had more to do with the Ref than it did with Marg being competitive or able to last all 12.

Pac was actually more compassionate to Margarito than he was to Cotto. he was coming on stronger with Cotto than he was with Marg in the last 2-3 rounds. Fact.

Remember: Margarito was NOT asked to make 145lbs either.

Mayorga Is A Shot Fighter...More So Than Cotto

This isn't a dangerous fight for Cotto. Mayorga in very unorthodox, poorly conditioned, older, and is NOT going to "catch" Cotto and end the fight. Oscar dismantled Mayorga how long ago, making him look very pedestrian, very amateur-ish. Big and strong still maybe, but NO way he catches Cotto and ends the fight. So get Margarito into camp because he will be next to fight Cotto.
