I understand the love for Martinez but the only reason he doesnt want to fight Pirog is because Pirog is the only guy in the division who has the potential to beat Martinez.

It has nothing to do with a belt.

Pirog needs one or two more televised fights otherwise Martinez gets zero credit for beating Pirog. I see zero incentive for Martinez to fight him at the moment unless he proves himself a bit more. If Martinez wins, Pirog will be seen as a hyped up prospect. Martinez already stated he only wanted big fights (money making fights) or fights that will help him get closer to #1 p4p. Pirog won't help him with any of his goals.

But fighting jr or zbik will get him p4p status?

Ok, now I get it... The WBC just out of no where decided to make Zbik a world Champion & decided that Martinez should be upgraded(if there is such a thing beyond a World Champion)to a so called higher status, as the Emeritus champion...But the definition of Emeritus is---> Retired but retaining an honorary title corresponding to that held immediately before retirement...& as far as I know, I haven't heard that Martinez announced his RETIREMENT or is planning on retiring any time soon!!! In other words, THIS IS A BUNCH OF BULL S H I T!!!! Now there are More belts(or so called champions, more like fake-ass champions) per weight class, which equals to more $$$$$$ these parasite organism's could make charging sanctioning fees to fight & defend these BULL S H I T TITLES!!! & It also seems more like the WBC was looking for an easier way for JC Chavez jr to become some sort of official world champion...These S H I T T Y politics make these belts worthless, that's why there should be ONLY 1 WORLD CHAMPION PER WEIGHT CLASS!!! Like way back in the days, when it was the "WORLD CHAMPION" & the rest were CONTENDERS!!!! NO BULL S H I T FAKE-ASS INTERIM, SILVER, DIAMOND, REGULAR, SUPER, EMERITUS OR CHAMPION IN RECESS!!!

I had a bit of a brain storm (or maybe a brain fart) today when thinking about Martinez current situation and the name that I came up with for him to get his big fight was Bernard Hopkins. I personally don't see how Pascal gets away from the rematch he contractually owes Dawson, which will leave B-Hop without an opponent. Mayweather or Pac isn't gonna fight Martinez. Arum won't let Cotto go near him. All the super middleweights are wrapped up in the Super Six. And B-Hop has been willing to come down to 170 and fight top middleweights throughout his entire run at light heavy. To me, it makes all the sense in the world. B-Hop would get a big named, smaller guy that he thinks he can beat. Martinez would get his big named opponent. And with B-Hop's current status as kinda the uncrowned light heavyweight champ, I think its a fight that could sell. What do you guys think?
