Mayorga got a gift decision against Forrest the second time around. No possible way you could have scored more than five rounds in his favour.Once Forrest settled down, regained his balance after looking so terrified in the early going,he consistently landed the cleaner punchers down the stretch.

I bet the same people who thought Mayorga won also thought he won the fourth round - based on some little silly macho stunt he pulled very late in the round.

Mayorga has this really weird fanbase. He can get decisively beaten by someone like Corry Spinks and they'll try and argue that he won that one clearly. They even think that he was winning the Mosley fight, too - despite the fact that he did f^ck all but hug Mosley after the third round.

Mayorga did to Forrest what Forrest did to Mosley. In the rematch, Forrest had too much respect or feared Mayorga, to make a good fight out of it.

        Not really.

I don't know why people think the more skilled fighter always wins.

It's all about getting your opponent to fight your type of fight. Mayorga pretty much forced Forrest into a brawl and then proceeded to annihilated him.

If Vernon had better ring generalship I doubt that would have happened.
