Comments Thread For: Vazquez Jr. Says It Would Be a Pleasure To Fight Arce

The undefeated WBO super bantamweight champion, Wilfredo "Papito" Vazquez Jr. said it "would be a pleasure" to fight on May 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada, against Mexican Jorge 'Travieso' Arce, a three time world champion, saying he was always an Aztec fan and lists him as a great fighter and a legend as was his father.

This would be a great one, Arce is slow but strong and relentless. A good test for Vazquez Jr.

How is he not afraid of anyone in the division, but is going to fight Arce, his previous fight was against a former flyweight, and his next fight will probably be against 1 too?

I don't **** on this fight because Arce looked pretty good in his last fight. He stopped training with Nacho and trying to fight like the Marquez' and is now training with Montiel and fighting with his style. The style looks like it suits him (even though he'll probably revert back once he gets hit). Arce will put up a good fight.

The kid didn't have much AM experience either, so he can have some development fights. He had tons of trouble with Ivan Hernandez, so I doubt he blows out Arce either way, let alone gets past the Montiel-Donaire winner or loser.

¿Why do some reporters keep saying that Arce is a 3 division WORLD champion & that he is going to make history if he wins this fight cause it would be his 4th & the 1st Mexican to win 4 titles in different divisions? Arce is a 2 division champion!! He was the WBO light flyweight(108lbs) Champion & lost it to Carbajal, then he won ANOTHER LIGHT FLYWEIGHT(108lbs) title(this time was the WBC) & vacated & then he won the WBO SUPER FLYWEIGHT(115lbs) title & vacated..In between winning world titles in those 2 weight classes he won the fake-ass, cardboard INTERIM WBC FLYWEIGHT(112lbs) title, INTERIM means that he's NOT THE OFFICIAL CHAMPION & the ONLY thing this title is good for is to make these PARASITE ORGANISM'S(WBC, WBA, IBF & WBO ect) richer by having to pay SANCTION FEES to fight & defend these fake-ass titles!!! So that makes Arce a 3 time world champion IN 2 DIVISIONS NOT 3!!! If Arce wins this fight he would be the 6th Mexican to win world titles in 3 divisions...

Now if the fight gets signed & done, it's gonna be a good & exciting fight cause they both are come forward pressure fighters that bring it on...

He had 0 amateur experience. He did not start fighting until a couple years back because he had a growing family and he had to find a more lucrative source of income. I love how people (not you) hate on him for not fighting better opposition before knowing anything about him. He is still developing and has beaten some tough fighters. I trust he'll get better because to be honest there aren't many other fighters out there that are as motivated as him. He's in shape 24/7 and is always in the gym. Its his job and he treats it as such, with utmost profesionalism.
