It just wasn't the power from Margarito's punches that discouraged Cotto, it was Margarito's chin. Cotto was hitting him with bombs for 80% of the fight and Margarito was still coming after him. After watching the Pacquiao/Margarito fight, I think Cotto has to be feeling pretty good about his chances with Margarito. The Mayorga fight will be good test.

        Funny:

We might have been able to say the same about Cotto's chin had he not been getting hit with illegal plaster wraps.

You simply CANNOT take plaster out of the equation and talk about "pressure" as if that was the key. No, the key was plaster and quite possibly energy pills too. Yeah, Margo's "chin" held up because he took so much out of Cotto with.... that's right, PLASTER.

We will not be able to say with certainty that Margarito's "chin" took everything Cotto gave him, if by the 6th round, Cotto's punch was greatly diminished because of the shots he was taking due to "plaster." It makes sense that if you are avoiding brass knuckles, it becomes harder to plant and punch, if you are dodging Mr. Plaster Caster. Even Roach said he heard the difference in Marg's "magic" gloves.

All this nonsense "yeah but you can't put plaster in a chin" is not taking into consideration the toll the plaster takes on your opponent thus reducing his output both psychologically and physically.

All that pressure is easier to deal with if your not fighting hands of stone, and fighting the REAL Margarito, aka hands of cotton.

So we cannot even make any real comments about "pressure" and work-rate when that ALL ties into the plaster equation no matter how you try to deny it does.

I like Miguel Cotto you guys on here who know me all know that, talking **** about him is a good way to get me started in a Boxing conversation but IF the supposed fight with Margarito happens then I wont be watching, I don't hate Tony but at the same time I refuse to watch any of his fights anymore, I didn't watch the one against Garcia nor the one with Manny and I wont watch the one against Cotto nor anyone else, I wouldn't even watch him in a street fight to be honest with you. I have no interests in seeing him fight again because every second he is in a ring is another second of being slapped in the face with Bob Arum's **** and I just wont have that.

I wish Tony good health, outside of Boxing I wish him and anyone who isn't an enemy of mines to live well but inside of Boxing I just don't feel he should be licensed to fight, I think if he wasn't with Bob Arum he would have had to go threw his true fate of not being able to box anymore and that's the truth I'm going by, plaster in your wraps should always result in a lifetime ban from Boxing, it happened to Resto and Lewis and it should happen to anyone else who gets caught the way Margarito got caught

to answer the TS I think yes, he can not only look him in his eye but he can repeatedly punch him in the face and body until he's seeing stars, Cotto is the closest thing to fearless I have seen in a long time in Boxing, dude fights his fight he doesn't bull**** he gives 110% each time, he has enough heart to give away half of it and still have more than enough to go 12 bloody rounds. say what you want about Cotto but both losses were not KO's they were TKO's in which people OTHER THAN COTTO stopped the fight but Cotto was still ready to ****. he would face Tony and any other fighter with no fear in my opinion, of course if it's against Tony I wont be watching..

As "shot" as Margarito is at this point, I still don't see any way Cotto can win the rematch. Cotto hasn't been the same ever since and his last fights show this. Honestly, Cotto got a win against a one legged fighter Foreman and it wasn't all that easy win to begin with.

Margarito just got his eye smashed out, after being beaten like a child by Mosley and looked avarage against Garcia.

Cotto won his last fight against a bigger/taller dude. Margo (exposed) loss his last fight against a kid he outweighed and towered over by half a foot.

              No plaster, No Glory.
