Sky Approve of Khan-Mclosky, HBO still to decide

This artice is off the Sky sports website, they sound cool with the fight happening and say its a up to HBO whether it goes forward or not...

Amir Khan is likely to fight European champion Paul McCloskey on his
homecoming on April 16 - providing it is approved by the television networks.

Several opponents were in the running to tackle the WBA light-welterweight champion on his return to the MEN Arena in Manchester.

However, it appears that some - including Lamont Peterson - have priced themselves out of the equation, leaving the unbeaten McCloskey top of the pile.

But while the former British champion from Northern Ireland is known to Sky Sports viewers, it is questionable whether the American network HBO will be able to market what would be Khan's fourth defence.

The Bolton bomber is lined up to take on the winner of Tim Bradley v Devon Alexander later this year in a unification fight, but needs to keep busy in the meantime.

He impressed critics on both sides of the atlantic with a dramatic points victory over the hard-hitting Marcos Maidana last month.

American Victor Ortiz remains a possible challenger, as is lightweight Michael Katsidis, who recently lost to Juan Manuel Marquez

SKY as scum, they allowed fraudley to fight, and now this bum vs Khan!.and they wil charge for it!,come onnnn.

this date could be swapped with hayes may/june dates, and wlad v haye could have happened without any problems of inactivity or short build up.

if he can get marquez, katsidis then great. if not, prescott will sell good, and he will reverse the result and win by ko early.

prescott hasnt done anything since beating khan, got beat by mitchell last time i watched him.

McCloskey is not a bum and certainly nowhere near comparable to fighting Audley.

he can fight but he's gonna get a beating.

Im glad he's getting a shot, but the man keeps his hands down and counter punches. Fighters a LOT slower than Khan have hit him.

Ill be cheering him on for the upset, but id dont see this as being even close

Regarding HBO's approval - will they not be showing this fight on a tape delay or whatever since it'll be in the UK? So im guessing they might approve it.
