Four-time heavyweight champion Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield, who turned 48 on October 19, is finishing up his training for his 56th fight when he meets 38-year-old Sherman "Tank" Williams at the Greenbrier Resort in southeastern West ******ia on Jan. 22. You may not need the money Evander, but the 20 some odd kids you have do.

Wow, now I'm starting to hope one of the klitschkos pound him into retirement. Holyfield is still too much of a threat for Haye to face. Although a loser retires fight would be great.

I admire Holyfield's continued dedication to the sport, but I don't want him to get killed.

I look at it this way: it's his life and his health, and he can do what he wishes to with it, including ruining it.

If boxing commissions still want to license him, he can fight as long as someone is willing to fight him and people will still pay to see it.

I agree with you there. But my take on this article is this:

Notice how there is no actual quote from Holyfield that states he doesn't need the money. If you read the article, it states according to Holyfield, he doesn't need the money but when you read his exact quotes, money is not even mentioned by him. The bottom line is Holyfield is in debt and his house went up for foreclosure twice and somehow he was able to find a way to keep it. If I were him, I would sell that huge house he has no use for, buy a reasonable place for alot less money, then create a trust fund for his 10+ children with the leftover cash (if he doesn't owe too much more than it's worth).

But with all that said, he is a very stubborn man and refuses to quit until he gets the heavyweight titles back which he isn't going to have a chance in hell of happening until the Klit bros retire. So until then, who are we to say he can't fight has-beens or nobodys like the Tank Williams' and Brian Nielsen's of the world. And according to ticket sales, he is still marketable due to his name. Let the man fight. He made his bed and impregnated a bunch of women, at least if his children benefit from the head shots he is going to inevitably take, somebody comes out better for it...

Yeah sure Holyfield doesn't. I still think Holyfield will get a shot maybe next year at a title.. until then he will continue but who's to stop him?

Holyfield, please dont fight the Klitchko's. Fight Adamek or Haye. But not the Klit bros.
