Actor Christian Bale took home a Golden Globe Award, earning high praise for his role as ****ie Eklund, a former boxer addicted to drugs in the motion picture "The Fighter," a movie on the early years of "Irish" Micky Ward. Bale thanked co-star and producer Mark Wahlberg, who played Ward in the movie. Ward is Eklund's older half brother. Critics have called "The Fighter" the best boxing movie since Raging Bull.
