But, anyways I don't think Jake is hating at all. If you read the 2nd line he mentions "depending on the viewpoint, it's either a good thing or a waste of time and talent." Which could be true depending on the view point.

And, Jake never said he struggled against those opponents. But, struggled to win in IMPRESSIVE fashions against those opponents. And, I agree with Brewer and Danny Perez that even though he won, he didn't win impressively.

I think some had criticism cuz' of how Lara stepped up against Brewer and Danny Lopez and he passed the test but instead of keep on fighting that level of competition. That instead they went and started fighting a level of comp's way way below in the last 4 fights.

Which is true. Maybe his handlers got nervous or whatever I don't know. Maybe they felt they were rushing him and decided to take it easy. But, again that is "depending on the viewpoint."

However, Lara fighting the winner of Alvarez-Trout in April is a good move and a step in the right direction IMO.

The only line that I didn't like in Jake article was "Some been fooled by the con job." I don't really see a con job. But, I don't know what he means by it.
Nope, I understand your point but you're all wrong. We know Lara and his wife, and communicate with them often. Fact is he and his handlers are crazy trying to get a big name for him since a few fights ago but they find no one. To give you more details, they want any champ or a big name like Angulo. They've asked them all but nobody wants the fight. I personally understand them because Lara is the classic high risk/low reward fighter. He can't bring any money to the table yet and he's one of the most dangerous boxers out there right now. Anyway, they say they're going for the title in his next fight against Canelo's brother. With a legit world title, he will have more bargaining power against the other big names.

But, at the same time Ishe Smith is better than the last 4 guys he has fought. He might not be a big name ala Angulo but he is better than the last 4 dudes he has fought. And, Ishe Smith does want the fight. But, it seems team Lara is not rushing to make that fight happen. And, I personally I understand them because Smith is the classic high risk/low reward fighter. Not a big name, not big money, a style that can make a fighter look bad, and at times could be a spoiler and pull out an upset. But, it seems like Team Lara doesn't want that type of fighter. But, I don't know.

Anyways, fighting the winner of Canelo-Trout is great. I really like that fight. No matter if it is against Canelo or Trout. Either one would be a major step up. So props to him for that.

yeah, lara may be doing the same thing he's accusing the others of doing to him, it's a possibility... i know HE only wants the tough names of the division right now. maybe his team, as you say, see no advantage in fighting tougher fighters with no commercial value and prefer to boost his early KO ratio in the meantime while the others accept to fight him. could be.. but from what his wife told us recently, it's REAAAALLY hard to find Lara an opponent, she said they looked for a few good names and no one accepted, so they had to go with the first one with big balls that was willing to go and it happened to be Raines this time.. she said lara wasnt happy about it but he couldnt do much about it

I thought Delray Raines could have beat the count but didn't want to continue.

Why doesn't golden boy have him fight K9? Are we saying Lara isn't ready for K9? No way. They should jump on that golden opportunity, imo.
