Whats going on with Pacquiao-Mayweather and Haye-K2 doesnt compare to what went on with those two. It was 'will they wont they' for years.

Tyson wanted no part of Lewis after he got outta prison.

Pac vs May and Haye vs Klit are probably better fights though.

It was originally supposed to happen in 1996, with Lewis being the mandatory of Tyson's WBC title that he won in March of that year from Frank Bruno. Tyson (or maybe more specifically Don King) had other plans, and Lewis was paid millions as step-aside money. Not only did King have softer touches for Tyson, but also fighters in his own stable, whom weren't contracted to HBO. Tyson fought Bruce Seldon in September of 1996 for the WBA crown, and then lost to Evander Holyfield a couple of months later (only the WBA title was at stake in the Holyfield loss). Tyson, of course, had the two losses to Holyfield which set him back, and the suspension from the bite.

Lewis had unified by the end of 1999, and Tyson upped the hype for a bout with Lewis in the summer of 2000 with his infamous children-eating remarks after beating Lou Savarese. By then, the whole sports world was talking about a Lewis-Tyson bout. Tyson then claimed to "retire" after beating Andrew Golota in October 2000, but everyone just took it as a joke. Lennox ended up losing to Hasim Rahman in April 2001, with Rahman celebrating "no more Lewis and Tyson fight!". Tyson returned in October 2001, and a month later, Lewis won the rematch with Rahman.

So I think it took two months of negotiations (at least if we're talking about after the Lewis-Rahman rematch) before the Lewis-Tyson fight was "official", for an April 2002 bout. January 2002 is when Tyson and Lewis got into it at the press conference, with Tyson biting Lewis's leg, and threatening to sodomize a male reporter until he loved Mike.

Tyson was then denied a license in Nevada, but Tennessee had no problem letting him fight. The bout was rescheduled from April to June.

I picked Mike to beat him when they fought. The more i learn about them though and Lewis handling him with ease when they sparred i'm not sure.

in the Tyson movie he said he didn't even train hard for the Lewis fight.

that fight and a couple fights before were just fights to pick up a paycheck.
