Did you just call Victor Ortiz a "journeyman"? wow. but I agree with you that he was outboxed against Peterson. Ortiz is clearly getting too big for JWW and i think a fight at 145-147 against Berto would be a good matchup and one that I would like to see.

Ortiz is no journeyman. I think it's a bad pr move for berto, but ortiz at 147 is a decent fight. His loss to maidana and draw with peterson started the same. He was winning both fights. I was never aware that he entered the ring so heavy. That explains the slowdown right there. Ortiz if he has any heart left will be better at 147.

They will, but they really can't get mad if he has to fight his mandatory. Since nowadays Berto seems to think that he's this big star or draw then he should just dump his belt and fight a competitive opponent. The Ortiz fight would be cool if Vic was already fighting at 147. I'm tired of Berto getting guys to come up in weight for fights. People talk about Floyd's resume as champ but Berto's is even more horrible. Matter fact Berto should be thanking Floyd cause if he hadn't retired Berto wouldn't have his little paper championship.

even tho Aydin is not really deserving, even tho Jo Jo Dan was jobbed and deserves a rematch, even tho Berto is over-priced for the level of competition he faces, even tho it won't do big numbers...
...the fight Berto-Aydin has to happen just because of the shady and corrupt backround of matchmaking that fight and the pride of a champion (in this case a belt-holder) to fullfill his obligation in defending his title to the whether deserving or not mandatory challenger.
