Opinions/ Help planning a 'boxing night'

Hopefully no one thinks this is super lame or anything but me and some friends have just started to get interested in the sport of boxing and want to plan a night to get together and do some organized sparring. Were not looking to beat the hell outta each other or anything, actually thinking of trying to come up with a points system for successful hits and blocks in 3 1 minute rounds.

So I'm interested if anyone else has done something like this before and what format you used etc. We will be requiring the use of headgear and mouthpieces with 14z training gloves. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Newark Ohio which is in the middle of nowhere. We would love to do something at a boxing gym but the closest thing to us is in Columbus and that's to far to drive several times a week. We have a program at YMCA but they are asking $45 a month. We may go that route eventually but for now we've been studdying technique and looking for a fun way to practice sparring.
