  • Comments Thread For: Alexander's Trainer on The Pacquiao-Black Fighter Debate

During a recent interview, Kevin Cunningham, the manager and trainer of WBC junior welterweight titlist Devon Alexander, gave his opinion on the ongoing debate regarding WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and the fact that he's never fought an African American boxer with a "slick style" of fighting. Pacquiao defends his title against Shane Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I would love nothing more than for Alexander to get past Bradley, take on Pacquiao, and get destroyed within 4 rounds.

        Title has a spelling error.

And boy does Kevin Cunningham love to talk. I think he really enjoys the limelight.

The only slick, black fighter at 147 is Andre Berto. And Andre Berto hasn't fought anyone decent from any color.

Of course Cunningham is going to say this. If Devon beats Bradley, guess what line Cunningham is going to use to entice Manny.

"Manny hasn't fought a slick, black fighter. So, fight Devon."
