Comments Thread For: Giovani Segura Wants a Pingo Miranda Showdown Next

WBA/WBO light flyweight champion Giovani "El Guerrero Azteca" Segura (26-1-1) had a very successful 2010 campaign in which he won all four of his ring appearances. The highlight of his year came in August when he traveled to Puerto Rico and knocked out the previously undefeated Ivan Calderon on his home turf.

no point in fighting calderon again,he beat him up good, instead of fighting a meaningless rematch go after a champion, would be good to see him against miranda and then unify with kameda, that fight would be great

Segura is pretty big for the 108 lb division, so I figured he wouldn't be there much longer. He's fought several times at flyweight already, so he doesn't need to get used to the weight. Hopefully we'll se him in with Wonjongkam before year's end.

Kameda has moved up. Concepcion is the WBA champion now.

        Concepcion-Segura would be great though.

Boxing needs more active champions. 7 times in 2 years these days is pretty good.

Spoken like a true champ. He not only wants to move up but unify the division again.

                Is concepcion any good?

The fights I've seen of him are short due to stoppages, but he has the look of a come forward, all action pressure fighter.

He's short (he's only about 5'2), but has good speed and power. Can get wild and leave himself open. In terms of styles, Concepcion-Segura is one for the fans.
