I've always thought Donaire and Pac wasn't all that close, Pinoys don't appreciate Donaire as much as they should.

I saw somewhere on Facebook the reaction a lot of Filipino fans had to Donaire's press conference this week and I have to agree

oh sure there are some who really like the kid and all but a lot, way too many for my liking, simply call him a Manny wannabe etc

There really isn't any personal feud between Manny and Nonito, if anything Arum is to blame for not having Nonito on the undercards. Additionally Rachelle Donaire is also known to stir the pot on occasions and has been rumored to be the root of the cause on some fights that failed to occur with Nonito, and as seen on the other vid posted by another user, she reacts on "rumors" that Koncz has motioned to remove Nonito on Pac's undercard.

Manny has never said anything negative about Nonito, if anything he's praised him more in public as a fellow pinoy boxer and same way goes for Nonito.

Arum, being the greedy old **** that he is, should be blamed for any sort of friction between the two teams. He'll only acknowledge that Nonito is only second to Manny Pacquiao (his cash cow) in terms of boxers from the PI, granted that's a pretty big accolade but the manner that Arum constantly reiterates this fact makes one thing that Nonito is only an afterthought compared to Manny:

Also regarding Nonito not being a well-known fighter for casual boxing fans, this is not true (atleast in the Philippines). He's been well covered in the media back in his homeland and even been featured in a dancing/variety show on several occasions. His name is well-known in the PI. After the Sidorenko fight, the President Aquino formally congratulated Nonito as did Manny Pacquiao.

Again, apart from blaming Arum for most of these rumored friction, I would also blame Rachelle. Rachelle likes to dabble her fingers into Nonito's boxing business. Rachelle does more damage than she does good for Nonito. Instead of helping mend Nonito's relationship with his parents, she pulled him away from Nonito's family and alienated him.

Maybe that is why? Is there a feud between the 2 that you know of? It would be silly if there is IMO. I can see the fans looking at it as a JCC/Oscar thing which would dumb but I can see. For the the 2 camps to feuding? Why?

I always thought the Donaire was seen as the next big thing for Philippines and that is why Arum wouldn't put him in the same show with Pac. Kind of like Juanma and Cotto. Maybe more money in keeping them separate.

but at the same time if you are trying to promote and push a kid into a bigger status and bigger fights wouldn't you want to introduce him to the audience he is tailor made for?

what better way than to have him on a Pacquiao card where droves of Filipinos will be watching?

and Bob is being a bit hypocritical because if he really did subscribe to the too many _______ on one card then why would he load cards where Mexican fighters are the headliners with Mexican undercard fights?
