I'm White and what Hopkins is saying is true, Blacks are built differently and they are very athletic, but he is overlooking Slavs. Up untill the iron curtain fell down Blacks were able to dominate against western Europeans and white Americans, but since then the Slavs (who are genetically different to western Europeans) have came in and dominated everything. Worlds strongest men - Slavs, Gymnastic - Slavs, MMA - Slavs, Boxing - Slavs, Granted not at the lower weights but thats because the lower weights have a larger volume of genetically smaller races and Slavs are predominantly in the heavier categories. Its nothing I made up or anything that was printed on a book two days ago. Its called genetics. :P

Bernard Hopkins is at it again. During a recent interview with Lem Satterfield of FanHouse/BoxingScene.com, the 45-year-old veteran made some interesting comments reagrding the issue of race, and how it relates to boxing and the big fight between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley, which happens on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Hopkins made huge headlines in November when he spoke to Satterfield about Pacquiao possibly avoiding African American fighters.

I haven't read any of the replies but I imagine fellow white people are arguing against Hopkins on this. I'm white and I have to agree with Hopkins. Blacks for the most part are faster than any other race. The world records for the fastest sprinters are always black. I imagine even the best running backs in football have been black but that's just a guess and I bet I'm right. The best basketball players have been black. Any high paced sport is dominated by black athletes. Even the greatest soccer player was a black guy from Brazil. Blacks are just more athletically inclined than other races. Why? I don't know but its just a fact. The greatest fighters in history have also been black. I mean, you have to be a little prejudice if you can't admit blacks really are better athletes for the most part. I'm not saying every black guy beats a white guy, but any white guy around that hasn't been beat by a black guy, would lose to the best black guy in the history of the division he belongs to. Calz would get his ass whooped by a prime Jones and the Klitschko's would be whooped by at least 6 of the top HW champions in history. It is what it is, deal with it.

Because blacks use it in a sarcastic way and bond with each other by using it. Its not just blacks that use bad names meant to degrade them. I belong to a snake hunting forum. Snake hunting is also called field herping because reptiles are also known as herps. Most of them are white. About 7 years ago the east coast herpers (snake hunters) and the west coast herpers started going at it like *******s and *****'s. The west coast guys started calling them Lame East Coast Herpers because there snakes are not cool as the ones you find out west. For short, Lame East Coast Herper is L.E.C.H. Now they like to throw it in everyones face by calling them selves Lech's on the forum. They bond with each other by using the term lech and it separates them from us. Same thing is happening when blacks call each other the "N' word. They are bonding and separating themselves from the rest when they do it. That's why a White person can't call them a N.... and also for the fact they were called that to degrade them by whites.

To some extent what he mentions is true. African Americans and other blacks that can trace their lineage to West Africa have naturally lower body fat percentages and subtle differences in skeletal structure. This is why Jamaicans (apart from sprinting being ingrained in the culture) and other black sprinters can run sub 10 and a white male is yet to do it.

On the other hand you won't see a black man do what Michael Phelps did at the Olympics either.

Depends on the sport......certain physical traits may make some black boxers faster (more quick twitch muscle fibre) but at the end of the day boxing is equal opportunity and it's skills and other aspects (styles) that win you fights. The ***s and Italians no longer send the hundreds of contenders to the ring they once did, so circumstance plays a part too.

Actually, a white (French) 20 year old got a sub 10 second (9.97) in the 100m in late August!
