Reports in Panama suggest that members of Celestino Caballero's team are unhappy with the latest news that "regular" featherweight champion Jonathan Barros (31-1, 17KOs) will return on February 19 at Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City, Panama, with unbeaten Mexican Marco Lopez (18-0, 10KOs) as the possible opponent. Caballero recently vacated his WBA super bantamweight title and moved up to featherweight. The organization made him the mandatory ranked contender in the division. His team is possibly going to force the issue that Barros has to face them next or the champion's possible fight with Lopez has to be a non-title affair.

Caballero can't just demand a title shot. He's coming off a loss and hasn't done anything to deserve his mandatory position. Barros has no business holding that title but he should at least be allowed a soft defence or a money fight before being forced to take a mandatory.

Caballero is a piece of work. He's beaten nobody at feather, loses a fight and then demands a fight with the least-talented of the six or so featherweight beltholders just so he can walk around calling himself a "champion." Why doesn't he "demand" a fight with Gamboa, or JuanMa or Chris John? This would be like Corey Spinks moving up to middleweight after his recent loss and "demanding" a fight with Zbik
