Watching a fight Arena Vs PPV at home

When Boxing after Dark HBO started having fights in Houston I was pretty excited. I went to see Juan Diaz Vs Michael Katsitis.. Took the family and had pretty good seats. This was my first boxing event and it was impressive. The place was loud and entergetic, we had a great time.

Even with decent seats I was like watching on a 15" TV 10 feet away. We were completely convinced that Katsitis won that fight and though he got robbed. I went home, grabbed a beer and watched the recording on my 65" HD DLP.

First thing I noticed was... It's amazing how much of the crowd noise doesnt come thru the brodcast. I thought I just watched fight of the year yet looked much calmer on the TV.

Next, I now see that Diaz won that fight... Could it be because the judges see all the swelling on Katsitis? Not sure. You gotta give credit to the camera work that they do for televised boxing. I would have loved to seen Pacquaio Vs Margarito in Dallas but I sure have a good view from my couch....

Agreed, man. It's so much different when you watch a fight live as opposed to watching it on TV.

When watching fights live (undercard bouts included), the atmosphere is intense, like watching a gladiator battle in the Coliseum during the time of the ancient Romans.

Yes live fights can be great, a good night out or crap with ****ers sitting next to you who chat **** and know nothing of boxing.

In terms of the view, yes it's not great, but just to be there is part of the thing, you can say you have been there!

TV has commentary and also much clearer perspective though.

I can attest to the difference between watching it live and on TV. I thought Erik Morales won against Raheem when I went to see it at the Staples center. But when I rewatched it on recording, Raheem won it.

I was at Hatton vs Tszyu and i could have swore blind Ricky won every damn round or near enough! So u can definatley get it twisted watching on site but u cant beat it for enjoyment either! Whenever im at a fight i record it also and that way u get the best of both worlds

when i watch the fights in HD on my 60? with 7.1 surround sound i feel like i'm sitting in the middle of the ring,u hear every slap and thud of leather,and see every drop of sweat,it's awesome! During the khan/maidana fight i was on the edge of my seat yelling at both guys and cursing at Joe Cortez LMAO I'm sure my neighbors think i'm crazy!

Watching a fight live in the crowd is good too,especially depending on the fight,atmosphere,and where your seats are!
