Comments Thread For: Marquez: Money is The Only Issue To Face Erik Morales

WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez is very willing to face Erik Morales of on April 9 in Las Vegas. He says the only thing to prevent the fight from taking place is the money. He plans to meet with Golden Boy Promotions on January 20. If they make him a good offer, the fight will be made that day. Marquez and Morales have faced Marco Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao but they never faced each other. Marquez wants to close the chapter of his era by facing Morales.

while this fight may be good to his overall resume, it's not a good direction to take at the moment if he has his sights on a JWW belt or PAC.

After the Alexander vs. Bradley unification fight. If Bradley wins(which he will), he will vacate one of the three titles, and the Marquez vs Morales fight will likely be at 140, and for a world title. The fight will be promoted as a fight to see who the first Mexican to win 4 titles will be. This is why I believe the fight won't be officially announced until after the Bradley/Alexander fight.

Its amazing how no one is flamming on Marquez for fighting a Erik Morales at this time.

Yet PLENTY of people flame on Pacquiao for fighting him 4 years ago?

It's only 2 titles now, Alexander's already been stripped by the IBF (which is why I don't know why people still give a **** about these bull**** alphabet "world" titles) and if Bradley wins, you already said what will happen.

Titles are up for sale, so it is definitely a possibility JMM-Morales can be for the WBC 140 lb. title, but I can also see it being similar to the Leonard-Lalonde situation, where titles up for both divisions.

The problem with this, is that the fight was at 130, a weight he already said he was weight drained at. A weight where he looked like this:

Better than Hopkins vs Jones II

I guarranty that this presumed fight between Marquez vs morales will be a danndy! This 2 fighter leave everything in the ring not like the 2 useless fighters like Hopkins and jones were everyone wanted to see a second boring a** fight!!!!

I ask what is wrong with Juan Manuel Marquez for demanding more money?
Isn't he the one that has giving us the fans the mos good fights lately?

If this fight is bad so is Cotto vs Mayorga and Pacquiao vs Mosley
