Shame on whoever mocks Shane by calling him oldsley or anything of that sort. I believe the user SekondzOut said it best: (I'm not sure, but I think it was him)

Everyone should blame Arum and Pac for making this fight. Why is Shane taking any of the blame?

All he has done was fight the best fighters of his time. He's never ducked anybody.

Somehow, someway, he gets made fun of by some of these guys in these forums. Here he is-- almost 40-- and he's fighting (arguably) the best fighter of our generation.

I wish there were more fighters like Shane.
      ____

So, if you want to blame someone, blame Pacquiao. I love the man, but he should take the blame if you think it's terrible for a Pac/Mosley fight to be happening.

        brawling

"Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. You can't hit
        what your eyes can't see."

This is the same strategy that the Congressman will use to shame Shane.
There will be dancing, shuffling, and a little rope-a-dope. It will be over
        in three.

Pacquiao's selection of the aging Mosley has drawn criticism from the boxing community, but during a recent interview with FanHouse, Top Rank Promotions' CEO, Bob Arum.

Asked AFTER THE MORA FIGHT if he'd read the less-than-glowing reports of the controversial draw, Arum gave little reason to expect a Mosley-Pacquiao showdown.

"I did and I read them saying Mosley was huffing and puffing for air in the fourth or fifth round,"
Arum said. "To me, that is the real tipoff for an aging fighter. Even Big George Foreman did that in his 40s but he always had that big, big punch like in the (Michael) Moorer fight.

"What I've read is not very supportive to make any Mosley-Pacquiao bout. Look, he's going to be 40 and he's in the lighter weights where speed is so important. He's on a show with guys -- example, 20-year-old Saul Canelo Alvarez -- old enough to be his son.

"I guess Shane needs the money due to his matrimonial sitaution (a divorce under harsh California community property rules),"Arum said. "I've always considered Shane to be a nice guy but this is what happens to fighters when they age.

"It's like (Bernard) Hopkins, he still knows how to fight but who wants to pay to see him now? His fights are not very scintillating. What you see with Hopkins we're beginning to see with Mosley."

Arum said he wouldn't be interested in playing the flakcatcher if he made a Shane-Manny bout at this point.

Cotto was too skilled, too fast, and too powerful for Mosley...nearly 4 years ago

And Pac never fought someone of Mosley's "skill set"?

Pac dismantled Cotto, JMM, Morales and MAB...all fighters with better skill sets than Mosley.

Arum has no shame...I wish I could pull off that poker face like Arum

I think it was Cotto coasting for a decision that brought the score cards closer...even then, in the later rounds, when he wanted to snap that neck back with a stiff jab and turn Mosley around, he did it effortlessly.

Pacquaio will probably implement a pretty much similar attack strategy, only they punches will come in serious bunches and much faster. Shane couldn't hang with Cotto's speed, Mayweather's speed, Mora's speed, and hell, even Mayorga was tagging him...Pac will murdalize (yep, new word!) him

I hope the medics will be readily available, Pac is going to put Mosley away rather brutally I think
