Berto wants to fight the elite fighters, wants the big paydays like Pac and Cotto etc etc. But, what I get from the whole thing is in the meantime until he gets those fights he wants soft touches he doesn't want to risk it against 2nd tier opponents. Maybe the Collazo fight was too close for comfort that has him feeling this way.

He should fight Cintron, who is not a bum BTW, Cintron is a big strong, hard hitting fighter. He will give Berto a new look. Is a fight that is easy to make. And, is a fight that I think Berto wins.

But, again he rather fight lesser opponents and wait for his chance instead of just fighting the best available.

Why would those elite fighters want to fight Berto though? What does he bring to the table? If Berto does fight Kermit i got Kermit by stoppage.

Has anyone noticed that Berto's been fighting big punchers lately? I think they're trying to prepare him for guys like Cotto, Mosley, Cintron and Pacquiao by doing this. Bailey isn't exactly an amazing fighter, but he does have ATG power in that right hand. Just ask Urango and Gato.

              big predictable punchers maybe

bailey is so predictable with that right hand when he sets it up it should be easy not to get tagged by it at all

You're right Freddy Hernandez & Carlos Quintana are basically Mike Tyson clones.

Well if you campaigning at WW and he is the best available WW I say you fight him. Plus he is prime undefeated fighter and brings something new that you haven't seen of course I'm talking about Pac. But, I guess fighting the likes of Mosley and Mayorga or what have you is much better. Whatever.

I don't see Kermit stopping him. When was the last time he stopped at WW? over 3yrs ago? It was against Jesse Feliciano in a fight that Cintron didn't really impress was more impressed by Feliciano heart than what Cintron was doing in there. And, the rolling around the ring so dramatic.

I look at intangibles, I like Berto intangibles more so than Cintron. You can say that Berto would not stop Feliciano, you can say that Margarito, Martinez, and P-Will will run through him. However, I don't think Berto would act the way Cintron did. Is the intangibles. Cintron rolling around the ring, crying, claiming phantom headbutts, jumping out the ring. Is all him not having the intangibles to be an elite fighter.

Look at this way, if he can not stop Berto, if the fight is a tough fight how would he react? I saw how Berto acts in a tough fight. He digs down and pulls it off. Look at the Collazo fight. The fight was not going his way. But, in the championship rounds when he needed to win those rounds he dug down and got them. Would Cintron have done that? I doubt it.

Berto might not have the best intangibles ever but he damn sure has more than Cintron. And, that will win him the fight over Cintron IMO. Cintron better hope he KO's Berto early. Because, if he can't KO Berto early and the fight is tougher than expected he is done for it. He just doesn't have those intangibles.
