Yea right Cotto, Mayorga will get into his head, mabe not at first, but when he ***** slaps him then it's on. I guarantee Mayorga is gonna be in great shape and ready to fight, and I gurantee Cotto is not gonna take him serious. I believe it's gonna be a good bloody fight.

im down with this fight because mayorga is entertaining

however, how can anyone complain about shane fighting pac and not complain

about mayorga getting a crack at the title and at cotto when mayorga has

It's a very good point, but to me it's should be a competative fight. Let me put it this way, Mayorga would have a title right now if he had been put up against a one-legged fighter for the title like Cotto was against Foreman.


This fight is very interesting for me because it will show us exactly where Cotto is right now, If Steward has tightened up Cotto's defense then it should be a boxing lesson for Mayorga, if not then Mayorga has the power to make Cotto regret ever taking this fight.

Stepping Stone

Mayorga is just a stepping stone because Cotto has lost a lot of fans and shine in his last 3 or 4 fights. Cotto needs some guys like Mayorga right now in order to regain some confidence and recognition. Mayorga use to be tough, now he is old and out of shape. Still dangerous because he is a hard hitter but really a shadow of what he use to be. So what Arum and Cotto are looking at is the fight with Margaresto next summer. That one is a better match, Cotto should be able to pull it because Cheeto is not such a threat with out the plaster.

Weird, they don't seem to have anything scheduled for today. They got a photoshoot tomorrow, a PR presser jan 15 and an NY presser the 19th. Nothing today though...
