Well he did duck Marg and Cotto when the division started heating up by "retiring".

I don't think so. He's fought most of the guys that Pac has fought before him. Sure he didn't win as big but he's fought 'em. And also, he fought Shane coming off an impressive knockout victory of the cheating scumbag, and outclassed Shane and made him look like total crap. If he don't fight Pac or any worthy opponent then there will be a lot of questions that he must answer.

Most if not all boxers dont care as much about legacy as they do about the amount of money in their bank at the end of their retirement, you cant live off you legacy when you're a retired fighter with no job.

Jr has the dollar bills, so his career is not wasted, but he will still be looked at as a coward who didnt fight the best fighters in his era, if he can live with that....so be it.

So I'm guessing you think Calzaghe ducked Dawson when he retired, and Lennox ducked Wlad, Byrd, and Ruiz when he retired right?

Let's not forget Trinidad either, he was ducking Pavlik, Williams, and Martinez when he retired!

Wanna know what a duck is? When you say you'll fight the winner of a fight aka Pacquiao to Mayweather-Mosley and De La Hoya to Margarito-Cotto, and suddenly when the person you don't want wins, you avoid them. That's a DUCK. Or when someone "agrees" to every term on the contract and then in the end, doesn't take the fight. That's a DUCK.

Cotto never called out Floyd, he never went to the table, he never made an offer. So how is he ducking Cotto?

                you never actually know.

saying something along the lines of "If he fought Cotto/Margarito/Cotto/Casamyor/Tsyzu/whoever when they were prime at the top of the division, he would be way more highly regarded!" sounds nice, but in reality theres no guarentee that he would have beaten them.
and a loss probably hurts his legacy a bit.

but yet at the same time, had he beaten all those guys...he would be VERY well regarded at the moment.

there are no guarentees in boxing

I think he had a good career, but unfortunately through his actions and choices he may have ruined his chances of having a great one.
