I thought margaresto would be playing the title character.

Duran was half Mexican, wasn't he?

In any regards, should be a decent movie. De Niro had Ragin Bull, Al will have Hands Of Stone. Let's hope this movie even comes across half as well as Jake LaMotta's story. Lol.

Still, with Tego Calderon in the picture, you don't know what kind of movie they are striving for.

Actor Jay Hernandez from the prequel Carlito’s Way wouldn’t be bad pick.

God, I hope they don't **** this up.

I heard somewhere, and I'm not sure if this is true, that Duran was half Mexican and half native who happened to live in Nicaragua? This is only off the top of my head, so no recent research was involved.

They always get actors that are NOT Mexicans to play Mexicans in movies so I say it's about time. It shouldn't be that bad.

Who really cares if the actor playing him is Mexican or if he doesn't really look like him. I rather watch a good movie with a quality actor playing him then watch a ****ty movie about a great boxer with a ****ty actor that kind of looks like him. I dont even know what that actor looks like but do you realize how hard it would be to find a good actor that looks like him. Obviously they will have to find a actor that's Hispanic. I live in new Mexico and I grew up with Mexicans and if some hadn't told me that Duran wasn't Mexican I would have known
