thanks for reminding us that gorres gassed against montiel. and actually, thats the saddest part. cause montiel cant convicingly beat a class B gassed out fighter.

this is the coming out party for a new boxing superstar in the phils. time for Pac to hand over the mantle of invincibility.

thank God for this fight after Pac agreed to fight Mosley.

As much as we boxing fans want the best to fight the best, the sad reality is that potential superstars are groomed and their opponents are pre-selected by their handlers during the beginning of their career. Once a fighter reaches the pinnacle of their career, opponents are once again pre-selected in order to maximize their earnings to risk ratio.

The most interesting fights happen when the fighter and their handlers feel that they are at or near their peak fighting potential and are seeking more challenges and increased name recognition. I believe that both Donaire and Montiel is at this stage in their career, so we as boxing fans should be in for a treat.

Z gorres was a good fighter that had great potential.. All the Ala fighters seem to have the problem of gassing out. I also recall Banal gassing out in a fight he was dominating late in the fight. something wrong with their training. They should pass on their fighters who are fighting big fights or championships to better trainers.

All you guys talking smack about Montiel losing to Jhonosn, what about Donaire losing to a Mexican unknown Sanchez???? Donaire has already been beaten by a Mexican jajajajaj

And all this disrespect towards a truly great champ in Montiel is disgusting, reminds me of the days leading up t the Hazegawa fight

It's like Donaire is the 3 division champ wit some great names on his resume and Montiel is the challenger....it's all backwards.
