Matthew Hatton Accepts Fight With Saul Alvarez

Sources report that European welterweight champion Matthew Hatton has accepted a fight with hot Mexican prospect Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, possibly on March 5 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Hatton was the second option after handlers of WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko allegedly rejected a $550,000 offer. HBO have reserved that date for a ‘Boxing After Dark’ show and there is also a chance of a bout between Michael Katsidis and Robert Guerrero.

First thought that comes to mind is that Senchenko is an idiot, but I don't know how much he usually makes or if his management are evil geniuses.

Canelo and his management for some reason are intent on getting the WBA title instead of going for the IBF and Zaveck.

Fighting Hatton is essentially an eliminator for the WBA, but why would they want an eliminator for Senchenko, if this dude is pricing himself so highly?

**** it, Canelo will KO all 3 of the opponents being mentioned either way, Hatton included.

Why is Canelo fighting Hatton, if that Russian dude doesnt want to fight him?

Hatton is a better opponent than Senchenko anyway.

Senchenko when he was 23-0 fought a guy with a 0-1 record. What the fúck?

This should be a decent fight and a move in the right direction for Canelo.
