I have only seen him twice because he's still an ameture, but he's a very exciting prospect.
Russ is a great guy, he has his own show up here and I exchange emails with him every now and then.
Russ is training him, and can't say enough good things about him. He say's he's never trained anyone with as much punching power, and that they will go pro next year. Russ thinks he should win his first 25 fights no problem.
How do you know Russ?
Cheers, and keep your ears open about Adonis. He's going to make some noise as a pro.
I have known Russ since I fought what was likely his best lb-4lb boxer ever, Otis Grant, in 1988. Since then I have been to Montreal MANY times with them and even ended up in London with them in training camp when Otis beat Ryan Rhodes. Russ worked with me for my last fight, in 2001, and I was on his show 2 weeks ago. He is one of my best friends period

Damn, I wish I caught that show, I haven't seen it in a few weeks.
Russ seems like a great guy.
Next time you talk to him see if he has any news on Adonis.
i've seen this kid fight, **** he's a big puncher, like a middleweight 80's mike tyson with good skills, if adonis can get fights in the US one day he'll be middleweight champ
Man Russ Anber...i love that guy, he's such a genuine nice guy and such a boxing knowledge. His show is awesome I saw it with John Scully too..anyone know of any other pro's or trainers that are on BS? Bozo can you please PM me Anber's email..that would be nice.
Looks impressive. That is a ****ing beautiful straight left hand. I noticed in the fourth fight he started using a very nice right hook as well, which is good because he'll need to punch with both hands as he fights better opposition.
The only concern for me about him is that he has turned professional at 28 years old.
What is it with Quebec and good 168 lb fighters? In the past 5 years there has been Eric Lucas, Otis Grant, Lucien Bute, Adonis Stevenson, and Jean Pascal, all from the 168 lb weight class. I know there is a deep talent pool of fighters in Quebec, but it is strange that this particular weight class seems to be soo heavily favoured.
