      1. Mayweather - has perfect defense, is never out of position, uses angles and throws crisp, accurate punches.

      2. Cotto - has great defense, throws accurate punches and is very patient.

      3. Tszyu - great defense, probably the prettiest punches to watch, great footwork.

      4. Toney - Great usage of angles, great defense, accurate punches, but gets lazy at times.

      Something people need to understand...

Manny Pacquiao is not a very good "technical" fighter. He has agood left, that he uses on single shots entirely too much. He's a slugger with handspeed, Morales showed that he couldn't "box" with the best. He's exciting to watch, however he has many flaws that other fighters are beginning to expose.

Yeah......support him, root for him, & praise him for what he CAN do & has accomplished.
But, don't be ****** enough to claim he's one of the most technically sound fighters around. These fans know it's not true.

I don't agree that Manny Pacquiao is a wild slugger with handspeed, there's a lot more to Manny than just that.

I think that people are always too hard on Manny Pacquiao, and too quick to say he's just a slugger. He beat Barrera, drew with Marquez and lost a narrow points decsion to Morales... Those are possibly the three best fighters in the World today, and you don't get these kind of results if you're just a wild slugger.

Pacquiao is VERY sharp and VERY accurate with his shots... Have you ever seen Morales get caught clean with so many shots before? I agreed with the result 115-113 And think that was spot on, but that result doesn't indicate that Pacquaio was schooled.

I'm not saying Pacquaio is one of the most technically sound fighters in the World, he's not... But he's also not a wild slugger with handspeed.

I dont know if alot of this is not matter of subjective opinion but my list

                Floyd Mayweather Jr
                James Toney
                Miguell Cotto
                Jaun Maneul Marquez
                Bernard Hopkins
                Jermaine Taylor
                Wladimir Klistchko
                Luan Krasniqui
                Corey Spinks
                Erik Morales

I would say poor technical boxers would be

Trinidad: his footwork is wierd and open to be exploited (not to pick on Trinidad he is definitely and all time great fighter) but the way he stays leaning forward on his toes is bad.

                all the brawler type fighters,

pressure fighters would be classifed as not technically sound

then the awkward types, but you can be awkward and also be technically sound. I would classify Byrd as this. As much as I dislike him.

I never said he was a wild slugger with handspeed, I said he was a slugger with handspeed. There's a distict difference between the two.

Pac is a very good fighter, don't get me wrong, however I totally disagree with anyone even remotely putting him on a "best technical fighter" list.

Pac wins the majority of his fights with his power and handspeed, not his technical grace. He has a habit of keeping his left down; remember the straight rights that Barrera was catching him with in the fight after the 2nd round, along with the ones that Morales was hitting him with?

Yeah he does get hit with the straight right a little.... But guys like Barrera and Morales will do that to anyone.

On the plus side to Pacquiao's talents, I have to say that he's one of the best fighters in the World at following up on his shots.

Lots of fighters will throw a combo and then step out to admire their work, where as Pacquiao will throw a combo and then pounce on them when they're unorganised... It's VERY affective!
