I think Bernard Hopkins best bet is to try and force a rematch with Jean Pascal and chip away at what he started in the first fight. If Hopkins decides to fight Dawson i give him a good shot at maybe winning in a close fight.

The 30-2 vote by the Mexico City-based sanctioning organization this week was an encouraging indication that its members fully realize Hopkins deserved better than a majority draw with Jean Pascal on Dec. 18 in Quebec City. And in terms of entertainment value, there is obviously much more demand for a Hopkins-Pascal rematch than a second bout between Pascal and Chad Dawson, whom Pascal beat by 11-round technical decision Aug. 14 in Montreal to set the stage for Pascal’s showdown with Hopkins.

If Dawson wasn’t owed a Pascal rematch, this would’ve marked a rare instance to commend the WBC for trying to ensure that Hopkins gets another shot at becoming the oldest boxer in the sport’s history to own a recognized world title. [Click Here To Read More]
I bet if the WBC would have given Dawson the rematch this same writer would be *****ing that the only reason he got it was because of all the money he paid them and that bernard hopkins deserved it more some writers are just little hating *****es

          Truth is this bro:

I really don't knock Hopkins move because that's what he is suppose to do....get money.

Same **** with Floyd, Manny, Martinez and every other top fighter. They are all the same and all fight for money.

All these fighters are the same, and you know what....so are their fans.

What I struggle to understand is when Hopkins does it, the excuse is "Hopkins has earned the right" or "B-hop has paid his dues". Truth is all these other fighters have put in just as much work to get to the top when you think about it. I've never seen you do it but so many bash guys like Floyd and Manny while giving b-hop a pass. The excuses are the same but Bernard gets away with doing the same stuff.

Also the fans are the same as well. What I'm getting from B-hop fans is "Bernard will win anyway so their is no point in facing Dawson" or "Chad brings no money and has no fan base".

Do those excuses sound familar? No hate but again all of our favorite fighters are the same and all of us as fans are the same.

I think Bhop should fight Dawson at some point because
Chad is still a name and holds significance. After what
Chad did in the fight against Pascal. I have a feeling that
Bhop has a chance to beat him. They should just make
            it a tournament.

So there I was going to quote ur 1st page reply & come bash U,but this post is well said & I got no qualms with it.But the bold isn't correct. No one gets away with it more than Pacman.B-Hop gets bashed,Floyd really gets bashed, but no 1really bashes Manny & when they do,Ya'll throw red k's out real quick.B-Hop did take that easy money fight with Roy,but he came right back & fought the lineal 175lb champ 18 years his junior, that is a more credible fight than either Manny or Floyd has had in years bro.

Why doesn't Hopkins and Pascal rematch, with the winner ordered to fight Dawson. If Hopkins wins and ducks, then strip him and let Dawson and pascal or whoever fight for the vacate.

mmm... nobody noticed Hopkins said he thought he won 7 rounds, maybe 8 ? and so did the writer

if you give 7 rounds to Hopkins and 5 to Pascal, count the 2 KDs, you get... a draw

not very wise by Hopkins and the writer

Hopkins can't brag about a robbery and at the same time go on TV to say he believes he won 7 rounds, maybe 8

                  we call this

If Hopkins can mantain the level he's been fighting at like he did against Pascal I feel he can beat dawson along with pascal (again, in my honest opinion) I used to feel at Bernard's age Dawson would be beyond difficult for him to handle. But after actually observing both hopkins and dawson....I feel hopkins has a strong chance to beat Dawson, even possibly stopping Dawson believe it or not. Dawson is very fast, has a difficult southpaw style. but his downfalls are, slow cement-like feet yes he is an athleticly talented fighter but despite that he has rather very slow feet. he also has mental lapses which have been some of his biggest issues in his career. Yes Dawson's speed could trouble hopkins but i don't think it would as much as people tend to let on. reason being is that dawson needs to have you to be at a certain distance to impose his offense on you. A fighter like Adamek gave him this opportunity and it obviously showed. Glen Johnson (in the first fight) was able to smother dawson and used his awkward high arm movement to get in and work on the inside. Dawson was able to maintain the distance he needed in the 2nd fight and glen johnson simply was much slower in general in the 2nd fight contrasted to the 1st fight. Now pascal was able to use his superior footspeed and offensive outbursts to disrupt dawson's rythm and was either at too far of a distance for dawson to mount a consistent offense or he was too close. And dawson could never mount a consistent rythm due to this, he was able to get his offense going in the later rounds due to pascal's fatigue and just the simple fact that dawson was acting on extreme urgency. And I feel hopkins can do what pascal did but in an even more dominant consistent fashion because hopkins would be able to expose dawson's mental lapses and slow feet more than anyone i could imagine. hopkins would get inside and work dawson's body early on in my opinion and would start shooting his lead right hand when dawson came in. dawson would be throwing but would not be able to find the target. Hopkins would be in and out before dawson could react. Dawson would have a couple moments probably but hopkins would ultimately systematically break him down over the course of the fight. winning a UD with scores like 117-111 118-110. with a side chance of TKOing dawson between rounds 8-12 possibly, it wouldn't be anything brutal moreso dawson just crumbling and buckling. that's just my 2 cents on that.

WHoever Pascal fights next, either bhop or chad, he will lose that WBC belt. Hes got to fiht bhop next, otherwise he'll lose belt. Both dawson and hopkins beat pascal in 2011
