Michael Katsidis and Marcos Maidana have only ever won interim titles.
I think Maidana will definitely win a world title in the future - if he improves his skills and picks himself up after the Khan loss he could definitely win an alphabet title at 140 and even at 147lbs in the future - two weight world champ in the making.
Katsidis however is a bit older, he could probably win one at LW after JMM moves up in weight/retires. At 140lbs, I'm not sure he can win a title. I reckon Tim Bradley's going to rule that division for years to come -- well I think Khan beats Bradley when they fight and would become lineal champ, but Khan's going to move up to 147 after that. Bradley however looks comfortable at the weight so I don't think he'll move up for quite a while, Bradley's got a good chance of unifying the division in Khan's absence and becoming lineal champ. And then there's also fighters like Alexander, Maidana and Brandon Rios (when he moves up in weight) that Katsidis would have to get past to win a title at 140. So maybe Katsidis won't win a title at 140.
