Herrera had the better movement he landed the cleaner shots and was more active on the inside. So, in my opinion the right man won the fight. As far Demetrius "A Knock Out Waiting to Happen" Andrade is concerned, well, lets just say I was less then impressed.

Both fights were entertaining. Andrade is pretty active but def has some flaws and should continue to takw aslow path up the rankings and maybe get a new trainer and keep pops as assistant trainer. The Russian guy was a powerful dude, but he kept avoiding his jab and not throwing uppercuts.

Its interesting how a world champ amateur can look so vulnerable in the pro game. Andrade is nothing special IMO.

Almost everyone I was sitting next to had Mauricio winning. Including Fernando Vargas. He showed lots of heart and countered all night. He has a really good stiff jab, he should have used it more, Ruslan kept walking into them all night.

Andrade is exactly what they said on TV - a smaller Andre Dirrell without the running and falling.

He has no where near the skill level as a pro, honestly if Andrade ever cracks the top 10 i will be stunned.

I haven't seen the Andrade fight, yet. But, I will say that he's young with less than a dozen professional fights. Everyone is entitled to an off/slow night.

Still, I hope he gets another 15 fights or so before he's genuinely testes. Than, we can fairly judge the kid.

yeah i was there at the fights, and the sentiment was that ruslan was favorite heading into the fight, I picked herrera to win by UD by using movement, because even though ruslan ko'd augustus, there were times in that fight where augustus's movement was giving him problems.

not letting ruslan plant his feet was KEY, and herrera did it, also, he let his hands go on the inside and knew how to properly use the clinch ( get your shots off, tie up real quick, separate, and repeat so your opponent can't get any rhythm or shots off ) very well played by herrera.....

everyone around me was saying i was nuts to pick him and i said, just watch, by the 6th round, the people around me started asking me questions as to what i thought about other fights and if this fight was going to continue in this manner, and i said, watch and see............

any ways, it was a small venue, but i have to say, the crowd was good, although small, i was surprised when my friends called me up with tickets and said lets go to the fights. the reason that i was shocked was that no where in town, that i SAW, was there any promotion for this fight...... anyway, it was cool being at that first FNF's of the season.

i could just smell upset in the air..........
