Why is David Haye the only world champion who NEVER faced a YOUNGER opponent?

There have been 78 heavyweight world champions to date (pre-NBA, NBA, WBA, WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO).

EVERYONE of them has faced younger-than-self opponents.

Why is David *poof* Haye THE ONLY heavyweight world champion to date (out of 78 champs) who has not fought A SINGLE FIGHT against a younger opponent? His MEDIAN opponent is 34+ years old. His last fights were against a 37yro, 36yro, 38yro, 39yro. This is unheard of.

Any ideas why David Nay is doing it?

He has only had a few fights at Heavyweight, and most of them are against older established fighters.

Also Heavyweights can peak through their 30's while the smaller guys usually burn out earlier.

It's also easier to beat up on older guys.

because he only just turned 31.

most of the guys in the top 10 are older than him

Did Tyson face a younger opponent when he was champ? Did Pattersson?

Haye rocketed up the ranks as a CW and didnt hang about there, Basically he was a young guy fighting more established guys, as a HW he went straight to world class and at HW the best fighters happen to be older guys, its not like theres an army of 20 year old Mike Tysons out there, anyway most big guys peak in their 30's these days
