    WBC middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez may receive a new championship status from WBC president Jose Sulaiman. The WBC is going to issue a possible decision naming Martinez the WBC's "Champion Emeritus" at middleweight. The WBC has three champions at middleweight. If Martinez receives the new status from the WBC, then silver champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will likely face interim-champion Sebastian Zbik on March 25 for the regular title.
