Cunningham is a very good and underrated fighter. However, don't call him or Dirrell elite and at the same time say Montiel is not elite.

Nor don't try to justify Cunningham being as an elite by mentioning his rankings by boxrec but ignore the face that Hugo is also rank #1 in his division by boxrec.

But, now that Adamek is gone no doubt Cunningham is the best in his division.

Again Montiel has beaten top fighters in Castillo and Hasegawa 2 guys with different styles. Something really neither Donaire nor Dirrell can say.

he didn't prove it for me....i don't think Hasegawa got a chance to get going. he just got knocked out. it's a shame because a 12 round fight of Hasegawa would have answered all questions. thats why i have to see what happens in the flash bout because i know he won't knock out flash in the 1st or 2nd round (not likely) flash will most likely answer those questions.....i think donaire is elite because yes he has a great win over the raging bull & he's been very consistent. my ONLY problems with Montiel is that i wanna see how he reacts to flash's movement.

Last I checked, that fight could have went either way, not to mention dlh didn't beat a "great" version of Whitaker. That was a past prime Whitaker that dlh struggled with. Prime Whitaker would make dlh look like a fool.

I'm not ready to call Montiel elite just yet. i would like to see how he looks against donaire first. the only reason i consider dirrell elite is because he's proven himself against froch...(in my opinion he outboxed froch comfortably) now i consider donaire elite.....but I don't know about montiel. i want to see if movement troubles montiel...i want to see if he can fight a guy thats on the out side. if montiel can beat a guy like donaire thats gonna try to outbox him yes he would be elite & very consistent. i would argue that he should be in the conversation for p4p...but i gotta see if a skillful guy trying to outbox him **** with his mind or not.

dude montiel is a 3 division champ. is fresh of of destroying hasegawa and defeated castillo another great fighter and boxer. If thats not elite then i dont know what is.

consistent of what fighting bums? Dude fights minimum weigh and a flyweight fighters how is some not suppose to look good againts those type of fighters. [I] would understand if he was fighing great little fighters but his only win is Vic and like you said he koed him did not go the 12 rounds so how could you say he is elite while montiel did he same thing to hasegawa.

its not about running from chavez it's more about picking your shots & not getting into a brawl with him. chavez had trouble with movement....if you ran from him it would be foolish. you gotta throw & be smart. you need to move while picking your shots & controlling the distance. & thats what whittikar did....u gotta understand that if you control chavez & bassically make him run into timed counters it discourages him & his vulome immediately goes down. he finds himself coming forward without throwing anything because he probably doesn't want to get hit with another crisp counter...this is nothing more then another way to beat chavez. & i thought taylor had that kind of talent to follow that kind of game plan if he played it smart. but taylor wanted to brawl a bit too much.....

So I'm guessing you have never seen Taylor fight before apart from that fight? The guy, like Holyfield, Norris, Gatti etc etc, was pure brawler when it came down to it. He fought. That's it.

He fought the best fight, and most perfect fight for him, in his career against Chavez. It's how he fought. If he had tried something different he would have been beaten worse.
