Berto can certainly do better but come on~ Both Collazo and Quintana were former champs at 147 and Berto was forced to dig real deep against Collazo so it is not like he is completely untested.

      Wow... Just Wow

What has Berto done to deserve this kind of statement. He fights hard and gives 100%.
Its not totally his fault there was an earthquake in hati.

He was going to fight a good Shane Mosely

Berto being the worst champ in boxing is BS! If he was the worst champ then we would have already seen him being fed to pbf, cotto, or pacq?

Now why is it that the three known cherrrypickers have yet to indulge in the annual diet of weak champ=greatness?

I dont think he is a coward but a spoiled fighter that is going to milk as much money as he can cause they are allowing him to. He will step up to a big name to collect a big paycheck but for now he will cherry pick till he gets there or is forced to fight a mandatory.

The WW mandatories are not that strong right now and he might get away with it even longer

            1) He has the 147 belt yet only likes defending it against JR Welters. (Fact)

            2) He pulled out of the only big fight of his career thus far. (Fact)

            3) He wants to fight JMM who is several weight classes smaller then the squared shaped Berto (fact)

            4) Bertos teeth are way to big for his mouth. (opinion)
hes the highest payed prospect in the buisness

hmmm i dont recall manny picking and fighting easy opponents when he was rising up in his boxing career... this dude berto is still young and fresh, he needs to have his dues and prove to everyone that he is worthy of a BIG fight.

When Pacquiao was Berto's age, he had already beaten Barrera, had his fight with Marquez, and was just entering into his Morales trilogy.

Berto hasn't done **** to date. The thread title is a valid opinion, certainly. Berto is an underachiever in every sense of the word.

If I could fight the Freddy Hernandez's of the world and a 1/2 empty arena and make $1.2 million for it without hardly breaking a sweat; I would do it too.
BTW, I really don't think the Mosley fight was cancelled because of the earthquake, as Berto's family was out of harms way. I believe that it was an excuse to step aside so that Mosley could fight Mayweather. Jus sayin.
