A Hamburg Regional Court has confirmed the validity of the promotional contract between Universum and WBA "regular" middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. Therefore, he is still contractually bound to Universum Box-Promotion. The verdict has not been finalized.

That sucks for Golovkin and then fans. Universum moves their fighters too slowly. They protect them too much.

But, to be fair I read that GBP is doing a deal to co-promote many Universum fighters, including Denis Boytsov & Rakhim Chakhkiev. Hopefully Golovkin will be one that GBP would co-promote and introduce him to the U.S market.

Hope it works well for Golovkin. I got high hopes for him. I just don't trust Universum but we'll see.

Sucks for Golovkin. That likely means he will be fighting bums in Germany for years and never get the chance to KO Sturm or fight the best
