Yea it's gotten to that point that boxing is pathetic as fuck right now. Not even the lower weights can save this shit year it's going to be in 2011. I've probably in the years and years of being a boxing fan, never been so turned off by the sport.
Shouldn't everyone be glad these are PPV and not fights HBO and Showtime are wasting money on? I am. I haven't seen anything scheduled for either major network that I've thought was garbage.

If you aren't excited for Alexander-Bradley, Donaire-Montiel, Froch-Johnson and Mares-Agbeko I don't know what to tell you.
So 4 fights are going to be enough for a whole year? lol
Sorry but that isn't enough for me.
definitely not, but those 4 are already signed and will happen (barring injury), all will be competitive (on paper), all feature elite level fighters in the sport and all are on US TV and not PPV.
We also got FNF starting tomorrow night, and they are increasing their number of shows from last year, increasing their budget on some cards, and adding that awesome super slo-mo camera. I'm excited for that.
Shobox has scheduled some interesting fights. HBO hasn't scheduled one garbage fight yet, and some rumored fights look really interesting.
It seems boxing fans (including me) over-react when some of the biggest fights aren't made, but it's always been like that and probably always will be. Shouldn't be down on it, especially when there is some really good stuff coming up.
I'm glad those are PPV cards cuz I would've been pissed if HBO/Showtime decided to waste their money on those.
I'm glad Alexander-Bradley, Donaire-Montiel, Rios-Acosta, Mares-Agbeko, and Froch-Johnson are free on HBO and Showtime. Boxing isn't UFC. They don't rely on having a major PPV a month. In boxing there's only two reasons a PPV happens. Either the fight is between two (sometimes one) very high profile fighters or the networks don't want to waste their money broadcasting it, so the promoters have no other choice but to do a PPV card.
