Valero's balance, precision and timing were sharpening in later fights. I believe he could've finished off Khan after weakening him, whereas Maidana was looking frustrated and clumsy during that stage.

Pretty much. Valero is very under-rated. He was genuinely good. Not only because of his power, but he was on of the few fighters that truly understood and used angles effectively.
