I've always been a Mayweather and Pacquaio fan. I rooted for Pac when he lost to Morales and I've been rooting for Mayweather since '97.
I'm watching some old footage of both fighters and all I can say is at his best, Floyd may be the best fighter I've ever seen (i used to think it was sweetpea).
Earlier in his career he was a whirling dirvish type fighter. Reflexes like a cat with the precision of a sniper. He never really had knockout power but his defense at the lower weights was beyond exceptional.
Pacman on the other hand used to be a pretty crude fighter. He was always exciting yet very basic. I admired his heart and ferocity. The way he fights now, at the higher weights, is shocking.
He boxes more now and has even developed some inside fighting skills. All this while being actively involved in politics.
HGH can't give you the speed, power and boxing intellect Pac now has.
While his competition at the higher weights is slightly questionable, it's actually phenomenal when you take into account the division he started in.
If Pacquiao and Mayweather had fought right after the Mayweather-Hatton fight then my honest opinion is that Mayweather would have more than likely knocked him out.
Since then the tide has changed. Mayweather has lost a lil bit of his speed and his legs aren't as strong as they used to be. He can no longer win a fight by sheer movement alone (like he did to baldomir).
Conversely Pac has improved greatly since even the David Diaz fight.
If Pac and Mayweather were to fight in 2011, I think Mayweather will receive his first loss and possibly by way of KNOCKOUT.
Mayweather is a very intuitive person (pisces male). He's fully aware that Manny Pacquiao, the Welterweight, poses a more than serious problem.
Manny hits harder than Floyd, has stronger legs than Floyd and is just offensively too much for a flat footed Mayweather to deal with.
So to put an end to all of this... Mayweather in his prime = possibly best ever. Mayweather of 2011, while still a GREAT fighter, gets beat by the greatest boxer in the world today, Manny Pacquiao.
