however, if all you do is fight mismatches *cough* rjj *cough* wifebeater jr *cough* that is wrong.

That last part is spot on. Cherry picking = A term used because a fighter is not fighting someone they want him too.

Sad part is these dudes aren't fans to begin with so why do they even care.

I Agree totally....they do this same type of thing with a lot fighters and call it "match-making"

If HBO allowed him to do it, Martinez would be fighting Andy Lee.

Martinez wasn't gonna fight Dzin or Pirog as he said no one knew who they were and didn't bring any money to the table. That is why they were pushing for Lee instead so please cut the **** and stop trying to ignore facts to fit an agenda.

Martinez is no different than anyone else.

When you're approaching the end of your career, I think most fighters start to think about their future outside of boxing. When you're young and hungry, you're out to destroy everyone who gets in your way just make a name for yourself. But what happens after you hit the pinnacle of the sport? Everyone you fight from then on is going to be an underdog. So what do you do? I think most fighters will go for the money. Agree?
cherrypicking is never ok, once a fighter reaches the top he should turn around and give the younger up and comers a shot. but unfortunately boxing has turned into a sport of divas that are continuously on the rag.

Not saying its ok, but I understand. As a fan, I'd love to see Floyd and Pac fight tough fights, but Why risk the legacy they've created? What do they have to prove? That they're the best? Truth is, there's only 1 fight both guys need to make. Until then, I ain't hating either guy trying to make that money.

More power, Martinez is not cherry picking, it is the fight that HBO wanted and I think for the options out there this is one of the better names to face.

Sturm is busy, Pirog said he is fighting in Rusia, Angulo can't fight (and don't want it), Pavlik has alcohol problems, Cotto just came off of surgery and is busy fighting, JCC jr doesn't want it even if he is the mandatory and Kirkland is not ready.

There we go again, this time don't put words in my mouth though, but lets begin. Please tell me what facts I ignored.I said hbo was willing to approve Dzinziruk but not much else,I never said that's who he wanted to fight.Martinez isn't different from anyone else, the only thing is though that hbo did their job(finally) & made a top fighter fight good competition. They haven't done that with Berto,Pacman,or Floyd.I ain't fitting anything for my agenda, team Pacman chose Mosley, over more credible fighters atm, period, holla back,I'm here.
