No way I never see this when people bring it up, it is not an even match up especially now since I see khan in there with maidana. Ortiz just isn't the fighter he was cracked up to be, he is very good and I thought the maidana loss was just a blip initially, but the kid really hasn't got it upstairs. He is astonishingly easy to hit, and I mean by guys that aren't even that accurate. He doesn't throw any particularly effective straight punches he needs to be close to his opponent to get off with hooks, he has good speed, but lamont peterson showed he was faster which does not bode well for ortiz against khan who is phenomenally quick. He is decent enough technically but khan will murder him with his speed, and up the middle.

At the very highest level, khan is a tough kid like maidana, and bradley all these guys are mentally top level as well as physically, ortiz imo is not. When the going gets tough he looks for a way out, he has looked for a way out in gym wars and sparring. Things against khan will get very tough very quickly for ortiz, I think he gets stopped mid rounds from accumulation of damage most likely on his stool.

khan beats ortiz. reason: ortiz is a quitter. I don't really want to see it.

i think khan would beat him, didnt he beat ortiz in the amateurs aswell? i know its different but it still gives khan the confidence that he can beat him.

Yeah he did, and by 2nd round stoppage i think, AM fights dont mean ***** really, look at Tyson vs Tillman for example but when ur talking about a mental midget like Ortiz then i think it will definatley effect his confidence

Ortiz goes out to clubs and drinks during training camp...that's why he looked sloppy against Peterson...he had nice/crisp short punches before that...he needs to get focused before considering fighting top fighters...

I am a Khan fan . The two match ups I was concerned about were Maidana and Ortiz. Although Amir beat Maidana ,there were some really uncomfortable moments and with a different ref it is possible the fight could have ended differently.
Ortiz is a dark horse. He can box and is a heavy hitter but mentally right now there is something missing. However it is possible he would pull his finger out if he got to face Khan. That fight would be an opportunity for redemption. I think Amir would win but I can see this could end up being a tough fight for him and Ortiz could pull out some surprises.

ortiz needs a new trainer imo then he might win. but right now khan would take it not easily tough.

Bump mother****ers. Still think this would be a good match up, just wondering if anyone has changed their tune since Ortiz's ww debut.

They both lack good defense, Khan is faster but Ortiz can get him out with one punch.
I pick Ortiz within 6 rounds
