  • Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko, David Haye: Who is To Blame?

After assurances from both sides that the contest was practically a done deal, the proposed fight between WBA heavyweight title-holder and IBO, IBF and WBO boss Wlad Klitschko has against fallen by the wayside in the wake of Wlad's announcement that he will accommodate Derek 'Del Boy' Chisora and Haye's proclamation that he is no longer prepared to deal with either of the two Klitschkos.

I just don't get Wlad's line of thinking here. It's really heartbreaking when the fight was so close. Maybe he just wants to stick it to Haye for being so difficult.

He can't realistically fight Haye nine weeks after Chisora. If he gets cut or has some other injury the fight with Haye will be cancelled, and apparently he can't even sign on for the fight until after the Chisora match?

What's so important about Chisora? Pay the kid some step-aside money. Wlad is not some green fighter, he doesn't need a tuneup before every fight.

Wlad realised that he couldn't put anymore barriers in front of Haye so ran away to his safe fight.

sky have made a huge error , amir khans fight will generate poor ppv sales in april , it shouldnt really be a ppv especially if he fights peterson

haye vs wladimir generate around 1million buys in the uk , khans fight wont even see a 1/4 of that.

also wladimir is being a pain in the ass taking the chisora fight , what happens if he gets cut???

politics of boxing makes me sick

The more I think about it, I place more blame on Klitschko. A promotion of this magnitude needs months of build-up. Klitschko scheduling a fight within nine weeks of Haye shows me that he's not serious about fighting Haye and maximizing the potential of the promotion. Plus, he's coming off an injury that hust forced him to pull outta a fight. Why schedule such a rough stretch for yourself? You literally have to go back a decade to find Klitschko fighting two fights in such a short span. So IMO, he's not showing that he's serious about fighting Haye in July. Not saying he doesn't want to fight him. I just don't think he wants to fight him in July.

            Both aren't to be blamed.

Wlad's German TV network only gave him dates for April 30th and July 2nd. He wanted Haye on April 30th. But Haye's UK network doesn't want it on April 30th because of the Royal wedding. So July 2nd seems a good date. But July is still far away and Wlad doesn't want a 10 month lay-off especially considering its Haye who he is fighting. The same guy who pulled out in 2009.

Haye just got hit with some serious karma. We will see now if he still plans on retiring in 2011.

I don't understand why this is such a big deal to Haye. He should just let Wlad fight Chirosa, and hope Wlad isn't 100% and fight him anyway. You'd figure Haye would be okay with it. If Wlad's ****** enough to fight that close to their fight, he deserves whatever setbacks he may incur. I don't see why this is Wlad's fault. If he wants to fight beforehand, let him.

                Obviously it's David Haye's fault.

Wlad wants to fight Haye on July 2.

Haye can fight his mandatory Chageav in March and fight Wlad in July.

Only problem is, Haye is greedy and won't fight Chagaev on free TV in March.

                  Wrong.

Khan's last fight was a thriller, while Haye's last fight was a stinker.

Amir is now more popular in the UK than Haye. His fight will do very well in PPV sales.
