  • ARTICLE: Blame Floyd for Pacquiao vs. Mosley

    http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Benz/Benz010611.htm

    Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing -
I am not one of those pissed at Shane Mosley being the next fight for Manny Pacquiao. I'll be the first to say that Pacquiao deserves to pick his next fight. If critics believe that Mosley will be a walk in the park for Pacquiao... so be it. If it really is an easy fight... then what champ doesn't take and deserve an easy fight from time to time? Personally, we should all give Mosley a little more credit, as we all know he has some damn good skills and on any given night could prove a challenge to anyone.

I think critics and fans are more upset that the fight they really want next, Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. is not happening. I can understand the frustrations, but is it Pacquiao's fault? No. Look, as much as I like both fighters, lets be honest... Mayweather has taken himself out of the running (I am sure by now you've read all about his mounting legal problems.)

So if it's an easy fight (as some believe Pac vs Sugar will be), or one I feel will offer Pacquiao enough of a challenge to keep his skills sharp... Pacquiao deserves to pick who he wants next. In defense of Mosley and food for thought, some may recall that when Michael Moorer became Heayweight Champ, he took an easy fight against an aging George Foreman... and Moorer lost that fight. So easy fights don't always turn out to be as predicted. I personally think Mosley has more than enough to make this a serious gun battle between two pugilists.

Hell, if Mayweather hadn't basically taken himself out of the game... I'd be one of the angry ones feeling that Mosley should step back and Pacquiao should be aiming his target at Mayweather... but that is not happening.

Maybe, just maybe, for anyone angry at Pacquiao vs. Mosley... perhaps they should be blaming Floyd Mayweather. Just a thought.

That's what I've been telling everybody. PAC vs Mosley isn't the best fight but as long as I know the Pac tried to make a fight with Mayweather and Mayweather ducked out than it's all good. At this point in Pac career the only fight left for him is Mayweather, if not than he can chose whoever he wants to fight.

Let me shed some light to the article for you. Now if Floyd was an ACTIVE fighter, no getting himself into legal trouble, willing to fight Pacman, we wouldnt be seeing Shane vs. Pac or prob even Pac vs. Margarito.

How hard is it to just say im either not interested in fighting Pacman or I have issues to work out personally.. Instead Floyd ignores the situation and what does boxing do without Floyd.. MOVE ON..

Amen to that,I don't understand this.Floyd is not fighting, which means he has no pull in boxing.I'm gonna blame Pacman for fighting Mosley, that's what I'll do,I blame him for Margarito as well,he is his own cherrypicker, that's no one else's fault.

Agree, I am honestly not fond of Pac vs. Mosley either but I am a fan of the sport and a fan of fighters that STAY ACTIVE.. and lets be real, Pac is capitalizing on the BIGGEST MONEY fights out there that dont involve Floyd at the moment... No harm in that, all fighters have done it when they were on top...

Do I want Pac vs. Shane NO, but when the bigger draw fighter is out of the picture, the other fighter needs to just move on..

                    An unsatisfied boxing fan..!!

Like I said, I aint fond of Pac vs. Shane either but I guess your forgetting the fact that boxing is business and Shane Oldsley is probably the BIGGEST MONEY fight out there since Floyd is out of the picture..

All fighters pick and choose when their on top of the game, DLH = Pacquaio, Mayweather = Marquez, Hatton, Baldomir....

                    It aint nothing new..
